Enhancing Research Capacity: Support Structures, Project Management and Academic Governance at UAM
This job shadowing opportunity offers an immersive experience in how research support, project development and academic management are organized at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), within the Department of Pedagogy.
Participants will gain first-hand insight into the processes involved in supporting researchers, designing competitive proposals, managing academic units, and promoting inclusive and socially responsible research cultures. The experience includes observing internal governance dynamics, understanding how research lines are created and sustained, and exploring strategies for mentoring early‑career researchers.
No specific technical background is required, but participants will benefit from having a general interest in research development, academic leadership, or higher education management. The activities can be adapted depending on the visitor’s professional goals.
