Description
The GeoCartographic Laboratory (Laboratorio GeoCartografico - GeoLab) is composed by GeoMapDatLab and Studio informatico. The GeoMapDatLab is the place where the combination of a series of hardware devices in virtual server and storage data mode is physically located and conceptually managed. The installed service applications are open source softwares that range from CMS (Content Management System) content management systems to more specific systems, such as GeoServer, for the management of geographic information with orderly collection and network data distribution functions, both for spatial georeferenced vector and raster data. The Studio informatico (IT office) is the core of the laboratory's didactical and research activities. It is a structure equipped with hardware and software components for the study and implementation of GIS (Geographical Information Systems) applications for conducting methodological and applicative didactical activities and punctual and interdisciplinary researches and analysis.
