SAM of Mediterranean Intitute of Oceanography

SAM is equipped with “state of the art” instruments to provide reliable support to the marine scientific community. The facility locally hosts equipments of the Technical Division of INSU (CNRS).

SAM is open to scientific communities of both the academic and private sectors, upon request and following a mid-year binding process.

SAM allows observing and maintaining buoys, drifters and other platforms, ships of opportunity (including commercial ferries) at sea, as well as producing long time-series records of variability (SOLEMIO, SUNMEX, MEUST, and ANTARES).
A highly skilled and experienced staff is also in capacity to provide technical support during oceanic and coastal cruises, as well as assistance for the development and adaptation of prototypes.
