Platform of Cytometry of CRCM
Aix-Marseille Université
PC-CRCM-PTA is hosted by the Regional center on Cancer research at the Institute Paoli-Calmettes in Marseille.
The Institute itself is the place for various projects in the framework of cancer research fields such as in immunology, hematology, solid tumors, etc.
Over the past 30 years, cytometry has become major in this type of research. Besides, the use of cytometry is steadily increasing, especially with the emergence of onco-immunology. Tumors are no longer seen only as a "bag of cells" which divides in under anarchic mechanisms but rather as a complex ecosystem. Studying intra-tumor heterogeneity has become a prerequisite for better understanding therapeutic resistance and improving the treatment management of cancer patients.
In this context, PC-CRCM-PTA offers services such as technical and scientific expertise around flow cytometry and cell sorting to the scientific community to support internal and external projects at the regional scale of AMU.
In 2015, the facility received the ISO9001 and NFX 50-900 certificates by Lloyd’s Register Quality Insurance as proofs of its internationally recognized good practices. A steering committee accompanies the decisional making and development of the facility.
Since its creation in 2012, the facility has allowed performing about 3400 cell sorting processes, including 471 only recently between 2019 and 2021.

translational study.
PC-CRCM-PTA is open to scientific communities of both the academic and private sectors, upon request.
To access the cell sorting instruments, users need to make a demand to the facility manager by filling out a template. After evaluating the feasibility of the project, an appointement to run the experiment must be scheduled.
Note that before using the anlyzer, users must obligatory follow a training (theoritical and pratical) so that they can be autonomous on the instrument. Three training sessions are organized a year.
PC-CRCM-PTA offers different categories of services such as the following:
-an access to its formal cytometry analysis instruments, and which complete list is accessible at the following link: https://www.crcm-marseille.fr/en/teams/technological-platforms/cytometry/
-training sessions and advising such as for panel and experiment design, troubleshooting, software using,
-scientific and technological experiments monitoring.
All the services are thoroughly described at (in French): https://static.crcm-marseille.fr/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/doc-21-catalogue-prestations-services-pfc-v7.pdf
