MRI Center @CERIMED
Aix-Marseille Université
Since June 2000, the MRI Center aims at enabling scientific and medical communities at the local, national and international levels, and from either the public or private sectors, to carry out research in the general field of fundamental neuroscience and clinical and cognitive psychology. The facility can also support research projects in other disciplines. Projects can be conducted on humans and animal models, taking advantage of the strong local expertise in non-human primate models (e.g., macaques, baboons, marmosets) of the Mediterranean Primate Research Centre (MPRC) staff.

The MRI Centre is open to scientific communities of both the academic and private sectors, upon request to the facility manager.
The main equipment of the MRI Centre is a brand new generation SIEMENS Prisma 3 Tesla scanner, associated with a complete and evolutive environment allowing interaction (stimulation and behavioural data collection) with the subjects present in the scanner. Other resources complete this equipment such as a complete monitoring and gas anaesthesia bench for pre-clinical experimentation, a training room equipped with an MRI simulator (mock-scanner), and an electronics workstation.
