Hosted at the MIO laboratory, the main objective of CEX is to allow researchers carrying out experiments on all type of living marine organisms under controlled factors (e.g., high-pressure) and/or cultivated conditions (e.g., aquariums, micro- or minicosms).

CEX is open to scientific communities of both the academic and private sectors, upon request and project pertinence to the MIO research laboratory.

The services provided by CEX are linked to its large array of equipments which into details include : 

• micro- to minicosms from 500mL to 500 L, 
• thermo-regulated experimentation devices, 
• light or dark temperature-controlled rooms, 
• environmental probes to record hydrostatic pressure, flowmeters, CT, pH and gases (e.g., O2, H2, N2, CO2), 
• two fully equipped containers for field studies (including a HP lab container and a microcosm container), 
• plus all the basic marine laboratory equipment.
