Remote access details
BACSREEN is open to both public and private research laboratories, including industries.
The experiments can be performed by the platform staff or by external users themselves upon assistance and after being trained on the tools by the local staff. A biosafety level 2 on bacteria is requested. Note that the molecules for screening are provided in micro-titerplate (liquid form) or mictrotube (liquid or solid form), which implies skilled users in the matter.

Equipment
Precisely, BACSREEN offers the following services:
-in cellulo-screening on planctonic bacteria and bacterial biofilms,
-pharmacomodulations,
-implementation of assays to assess the integrity of bacteria membrane and of porin and efflux pump activities,
-optimization of "hit" molecules (“hit" to "lead strategy"),
-access to microbial culture collection strains/clinical isolates,
-access to chemical libraries.

Description
BACSCREEN first missions are to identify and analyze new antibacterial agents or adjuvants that potentiate the activity of existing antibiotics, in the puropose to understand their mechanisms of action. The main services os the facility are phenotypic screening and the optimization of "hit" molecules, as well as the development of activity tests in relation with the membrane integrity and efflux.
