Description

This CIVIS Staff Week will foster exchange among administrative, research-support, and grant-office staff, together with interested researchers, on the ethical, responsible, and transparent use of AI tools in supporting research and academic activities. Through presentations, institutional case studies, panel discussions, and collaborative workshops, participants will share experiences, explore opportunities and challenges, and discuss practical approaches to AI-enabled research support, grant proposal development, research integrity, transparency, and data protection. The program will promote peer learning, strengthen collaboration across CIVIS institutions, and support the co-development of recommendations for responsible AI use in research support services.

Learning outcomes

Participants will be able to identify ethical and practical challenges associated with AI use in research support and grant development, evaluate AI tools critically and identify which tools to prioritize in light of those challenges, apply principles of transparency and data protection, and co-develop institutionally relevant guidelines for responsible AI use
