Opening Keynote: AI-powered multilingualism: friend or foe for European Universities?

The Staff Week will open with a high-level keynote panel exploring how AI is reshaping multilingual communication in academia. Featuring expert voices in communication, AI ethics, translation, and practitioners in the field, the session will examine real-world case studies, ethical challenges, and the transformative potential of AI in breaking down language barriers across European Universities alliances.

Registration Requirements

This Staff Week is open to communication professionals from CIVIS European University Alliance member institutions. You are eligible if:

  • You work in university communications at the central, faculty, or departmental level.
  • You are a member of the CIVIS Communication Unit.
  • A limited number of seats will also be reserved for communicators from other European University Alliances in which Universities of the Federation Wallonie-Bruxelles (Belgium) are members.

Your Project

When registrations open, you will be asked to submit a one-page motivation statement. This should include:

  • Your interest in the topic of Artificial Intelligence in university communication.
  • A brief description of a real-world task or project you would like to explore during the Staff Week.

One of the key goals of this programme is to provide expert and peer feedback on participants’ projects, helping you apply what you learn directly to your institutional context.
