General description

The AID-STEAM BIP programme is a comprehensive initiative that integrates AI into STEAM education through physical and virtual learning experiences. The project will use real-time, user-friendly AI technology in workshops, seminars and interactive labs to teach a wide range of STEAM subjects and to promote ethical, creative and critical thinking. There are also plans for cultural evenings, film screenings and discussions on AI technology and documentaries. Students will visit top tech companies, research labs and other organisations to learn about real-world AI applications and industry practices. These activities will take place throughout the duration of the project. They will create a dynamic learning environment.

Physical Part Description

The physical part of the programme will take place between 17 – 21 March 2025 in Bucharest; Sinaia (Ecological Research Resort of UB); Buzău and Focșani (affiliated branches of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of Bucharest) - Romania. 

Through a series of lectures and seminars, this part will provide a comprehensive five-day learning experience. There will also be practical case studies, interactive workshops and opportunities for student-teacher engagement.

  • Next-Generation Education: Computational Thinking, Digital Transformation, and Economic Decision-Making
  • Exploring STEAM applications of data-driven decision-making, computational sciences, and educational methodologies through interactive learning and AI-enhanced strategies.

Buzău – March 18

  • Innovative Pedagogies & AI-Integrated Learning in STEAM Education
  • Focus on adaptive teaching strategies, multimodal learning environments, and AI-powered didactics for mathematics, science, and technology education.

Sinaia – March 18-19

  • Ecological Data Science & AI-Driven Environmental Research
  • Hands-on experience in field research integrating bioinformatics, statistical modeling, and AI-enhanced ecological monitoring for real-time data analysis in biodiversity and biochemical processes.

Focșani – March 20 (First part of the day)

  • Robotics & Automation in Education and Industry
  • Investigating robotics, AI-powered automation, and digital tools for interactive and immersive STEAM learning experiences, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and applied engineering.

Bucharest – March 20 (Second part of the day)

  • Cultural Perspectives on STEAM Innovation
  • Cross-disciplinary activities on the societal impact of emerging technologies, fostering creative and critical thinking in AI-powered education and technological development.

Bucharest – March 21

  • Economic Research, AI-Powered Financial Modeling & ICT Tools in Education and Policy-Making
  • Exploring advanced economic forecasting, AI-enhanced financial decision-making, and the role of ICT tools in modern business strategies and public policy development.
VIRTUAL COMPONENT

Virtual Part Description

1 February - 31 March 2025

Students will gain a deep understanding of AI principles and their applications in various STEAM subjects through virtual classes and interactive tutorials.

The following topics will be covered during the virtual session that will take place during February - March 2025:

  • 7-8 February 2025: AI and STEAM integration projects and tools
  • 12-15 February 2025: Methodologies and global perspectives in AI and STEAM
  • 19-21 February 2025: Ethical implications and practical applications of AI in STEAM
  • 27-29 March 2025: Evaluation and reflection sessions
ASSESSMENT
Course assessment
  • University students submit an online project/portfolio.
    • This includes a case study that illustrates the practical application of IA in interdisciplinary subjects.
  • University teachers will evaluate creativity, analytical depth, integration with course concept.

The course is open to Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. students at CIVIS member universities enrolled in the following fields of study or related:
