Info Session on the Autumn CIVIS Call for Blended Intensive Programmes
Have an idea for a CIVIS BIP? Join our Info Session on the Autumn 2026 Call for Proposals
Are you considering developing a short international learning experience with colleagues from other CIVIS universities? Do you have an idea that could benefit from blended mobility, interdisciplinary collaboration and joint teaching across institutions? Or would you simply like to understand better how CIVIS Blended Intensive Programmes work?
Join us on Thursday, 29 October 2026, between 14:30-16:00 CET, for an online Info Session dedicated to the Autumn 2026 CIVIS Call for Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs)!
Speakers:
- Alexandru Carțiș - Head of CIVIS Education Unit
- Lars Banzhaf - Head of CIVIS Mobility Unit
The Autumn 2026 Call is open from 5 October to 26 November 2026 and invites academic teams to propose BIPs for implementation during the 2027/ 2028 academic year.
What is a CIVIS BIP?
CIVIS BIPs bring together academics and students from several universities in a short, intensive, and blended educational experience, combining a compulsory virtual component with a five-day physical mobility.
Beyond the mobility itself, BIPs offer academics a flexible environment in which to experiment with teaching and learning approaches, develop interdisciplinary cooperation, create new partnerships across the Alliance, and explore ideas that may later grow into broader educational collaborations.
Whether you already have a project in mind or are only starting to explore the possibilities, the Info Session will help you understand what developing and implementing a CIVIS BIP involves.
What will we discuss?
During the session, we will cover:
- BIPs and the CIVIS approach – what a Blended Intensive Programme is, what makes the CIVIS model distinctive, and what opportunities the format offers to academics and students;
- the Autumn 2026 Call for Proposals – who can apply, the Regular and New edition (“fast-track”) pathways, key requirements, application documents, evaluation, and calendar;
- organising and implementing a CIVIS BIP – building the consortium, institutional involvement, designing the virtual and physical components, ECTS and workload, student participation, funding considerations, and the support available across CIVIS;
- Q&A – dedicated time to discuss your questions about the call, potential BIP ideas, or practical aspects of implementation.
The call includes a Regular pathway for new, resubmitted, or substantially transformed proposals, and a New edition (“fast-track”) pathway for eligible CIVIS BIPs implemented during 2025/ 2026.
Who should join?
The session is open to academics and teaching staff from across the CIVIS Alliance. It may be particularly useful if you already have an idea for a BIP, are looking to develop cooperation with colleagues from other CIVIS universities, have previously participated in or coordinated a BIP, or simply want to explore whether the format could work for your course, discipline or educational project.
You do not need to have a fully developed proposal to participate! Just bring your idea, your questions, or simply your curiosity.
For questions about the call or CIVIS BIPs, please contact bip@lists.civis.eu or your local CIVIS BIP contact point.
