This course aims to achieve two objectives:

• Firstly, to strengthen the network of doctoral students whose research revolves around themes related to 'Cities, Territories, and Mobilities' in the CIVIS community.
• Secondly, to enhance the doctoral students' learning experience by fostering a framework of mentoring and idea exchange.

To accomplish these objectives, the course has been structured into two parts: an initial virtual segment, dedicated to exploring methodologies and tools for developing a doctoral thesis; followed by a second segment held in person at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where students will have the opportunity to present their projects and discuss the research challenges they encounter.

17 - 21 February 2025

The meeting in Madrid will provide students the opportunity to share their research with other PhD students. This collaboration will enhance cooperation and open the possibility to strengthen networks addressing common challenges across different countries and societies. In addition to networking, they will develop their communication skills by presenting their research in an international environment. Finally, they will receive feedback not only from other students but also from professors and invited organizations.

4 October 2024 - 7 February 2025

The virtual component will consist of a series of webinars led by participating professors. These seminars aim to enrich students' doctoral learning experiences by delving into specific aspects. Students will explore new methodologies (qualitative, quantitative, fieldwork, etc.), master techniques for graphic and oral research presentations, and learn to utilize specific databases, among other topics.
